Summer Cabin visit

 Summer has been so great so far! We enjoyed a trip out to a friend's lake cabin on Grace Lake. It was sooooo fun! The girls pretty much swam the entire night! It was incredible to just sit and enjoy the lake view and company!

Bekah's finger...

 

Poor Bekah! She was crawling around on Grandpa & Grandma's Rock Pile (after being told not to, of course! :) and slipped, wedging her left pinkie finger in between 2 rocks. It swelled up like a balloon and turned every shade of color! I wasn't sure if it was broken, so I waited for a few days to see if the swelling would go down. 

Well, I took her to the Clinic a week later, just to make sure things were OK and sure enough, it was broken! Poor sweetie!  Our Dr. gave her a little splint and told us to tape it to the other finger for a while... I am hoping it will heal correctly and fast!

The good news is though, after 2 weeks with the splint, it seems to be getting better, and I am thankful it wasn't a painful break. ;) She is a trooper!

 Memorial Day Weekend was a blast here! No big plans, just a simple, fun family gathering on Sunday! We had lots of fun enjoying amazing food and then a s'more cookout afterwards! The girls especially loved it! :)

It was a simply great Memorial day.. celebrating with family!

Leah's 1st Track & Field Day!

 Last Friday, we went to Homeschool Track & Field Day! It was Leah's first year and she was so excited! It was so hard to believe she is old enough to be competing.. only 10 years ago it was me competing in Track & Field Day!!! :) She participated in 5 things: 50yd dash, 100yd dash, softball throw, shotput, and standing long jump.

She had a blast! It was so fun! I was able to leave Abigail with my mom (THANK YOU!) and it was SO much easier to keep track of Leah and the events she was participating in. Bekah came too and had a fun time watching big sister do all her events. Next year will be her first year! (WOW!)

MACHE weekend

But to get to the River Center from our Hotel, we had to navigate the rather confusing skyways of St.,Paul.. and we did it! 

we also got to see the cool "Pirates" exhibit at the Science Museum.. right across the street! It was so neat!

      It was a wonderful weekend at MACHE! I picked up some great deals for curriculum for next year, heard some amazing sessions and got to spend some great quality time with my hubby. :)  We ate at the BEST pub our first night there.. Great Waters Brewery.. we still talk about how amazing the food was! We also got to have lunch with my very dear friend Jenny and her husband Matt, who were there at MACHE as well. SO fun to get time to feel refreshed, encouraged and strengthened in your homeschooling beliefs. And to enjoy time without kids! But we were more than ready to see our girlies when we got home again.. ;)

7 years!!!!!

Today, I married my best friend. Today, we said "I Will".. Today we promised forever!!!
I can't believe 7 wonderful years have gone by!!! Celebrating today!!!

BARC Reading

Bekah and Leah went to their first BARC reading day last week! They had so much fun reading to 2 dogs, Kishi, a fluffy white Samoyed and Belle, a Golden Retriever! It was fun to see the dogs really take and interest in the kids and what they were doing/reading. :) We'll definitely do this again!

Life in our House..

Life sure has seemed to fly by lately! I think it starts to do that after February.. :) Plus, it seems like after a winter of not being sick, we got hit with the flu, a virus, and colds all in the space of a few weeks! YUCK! I think we are finally on the mend though.. ;) Here's what life has looked like for us lately..
